“The Porter Residence-Portola Valley, CA.”

We met the Porters in 1990 at our garden-“Forest Lovers’ Garden”, at the San Francisco Landscape Garden Show. For over 30 years, we’ve worked closely with them to bring all of their landscape dreams to life on over 5 acres of their beautiful property.
    
Phase One included completely beautifying the rear pool deck/garden area. The existing pool was retained and upgraded, including special tile and plaster color, large natural diving boulders, and replacing ladders with integral egress “ledges”.

We created a 14-person built-in spa with waterfalls-lit with fiber optic light- to splash under while enjoying sweeping hillside and San Francisco Bay views!

Mr. and Mrs. Porter desired a GREEN landscape, so only organic materials, techniques, and NON-chemical pesticides, herbicides, & fertilizers were used.  Over the decades, other amazing projects have included many hand-hewn stone walls, paths, and patios, Ipe decks, gorgeous water features including a 6000-gallon Koi pond in the relaxing Zen Garden, stunning theatrical-grade low voltage lighting, efficient drip irrigation and native/drought-tolerant plantings throughout.
    
In 1997, Phase One was  entered in the CA Landscape Contractors Association Achievement Awards competition and earned Redwood Landscape, Inc. the Landscape Sweepstakes Award, given to the best project in the entire competition!”
